2025 Young Artist Vocal Program

"The Young Artist Vocal Program provides a comprehensive understanding and opportunities for singers of any age who wish to study Vocal Music at an institution in the United States."
 

January 20th - February 3rd 2025, New York

"A two-week intensive program that will challenge and help each student in their preparation and performance of art songs and operatic arias needed for auditions."

Program Highlights


    Individual vocal lessons and coaching everyday to focus on technique, interpretation, and musicianship



    Classes in diction, music theory, music history, movement/acting, and performance skills




    Opportunities to sing in masterclasses with guest lecturers, including professional opera singers, faculty from famous conservatories, conductors, and artist managers


    Information and practice in preparing for auditions, and other skills necessary to excel


    Performance opportunities at reputable venues such as National Opera Center in New York, with live video recordings and live streams world-wide


    At the final concert, prizes will be awarded to the three best vocal performances as determined by the faculty


    Opportunities to connect with and receive feedback from world-famous singers, teachers, and other professionals in the field


    Attending two or more performances of The Metropolitan Opera House at Lincoln Center, guided by the vocal instructor


    Tour opportunities available at facilities such as The Metropolitan Opera, The Juilliard School, Manhattan School of Music, and more.


    For students age 20 and younger, parents are welcome to accompany during the program. Sharing this program with your child may help in your understanding of the audition and decision process. Aside from the airfare, accompanying parents only pay for a lodging surcharge, the opera tickets, meal, and other personal expenses.

    Upload TWO video recordings showing your present vocal level, singing an art song or an operatic aria


    Upload a repertoire list of art songs and arias you have prepared and are ready to workshop in the program

Application Fee and Important dates

    $30 application fee before/on October 11th 2024; $60 application fee after October 11th 2024. Application fee is non-refundable.

2025 Cost of Attendance


    Tuition: $5,880


    Fee description: 



    Tuition includes participation in all masterclasses/lessons for two weeks, including 10 private voice lessons and 10 private coaching, performance at a reputable New York opera venue, performance live stream, live performance video recording, two required Met Opera performance attendances; lodging at a 4-star hotel in Times Square, ten minutes away from Lincoln Center by subway.​


    The fees do not include airfare, meals, or other expenses



Scholarship Opportunities


    Applicants may be considered for merit-based scholarship consideration at the time of applying. 


    Special "Maestra Millo" Scholarship award to the selected participant, with opportunity to receive a private lesson with Maestro Aprile Millo. 

Deposit, Payment and Refund Policy


    Tuition deposit (non-refundable): $1,500


    Participants are required to pay a non-refundable deposit at the time of confirmation to secure their place in the program. Deposits will be applied toward the total cost of attendance. All deposit and fees are non-refundable except in the case of visa related complications directly related to the student.

Sample Daily Schedule


    10AM-1PM Private Vocal Lesson; Private Coach Session; Practice hours; at studios near Lincoln Center and The Metropolitan Opera.


    1PM-2PM Lunch/Break


    2PM-5PM Master classes and guest lectures by Met Opera singers; professors from top conservatories and institutes; reputable agencies, artist management companies; renowned conductors, etc.


    5PM-7PM Dinner/Break


    7PM Met Opera performances or other activities

Auditors


    Anyone can apply to be an auditor, observing all public masterclasses/lectures, campus visit tours, rehearsals and live performance, with a comprehensive experience


    Auditor fee: $980 for two weeks
